Guided hikes and climbs in Table Mountain National ParkWhy a guided tour? A simple fact: More people die on Table mountain each year than on Everest! It is not a harmless stroll, as weather changes quickly, fog is common and water is
scarce ...
Table Mountain WaterworksThe victorian
water supply on top of Table Mountain is a historical monument worth
taking a look at. There are 5 dams and a small museum, housing old
machinery and even a steam locomotive, which used to service a rail link between a provisional cable car and the construction site of the dams.
Chapman's Peak
The mountain
above the famous Chapman's Peak Drive offers a short hike which is extensible according to fitness. The East Fort at the start
of the route was built by french soldiers - the only trace of this former
colonial power, not seen anywhere else in the cape. Day hikes
for fit people; hiking boots and rucksack necessary. |
